|Brief Profile:||Dr. Govinda Rao Duddukuri did M.Sc (Biochemistry) and Ph.D (Biochemstry) from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He was I rank holder in M.Sc, and qualified in CSIR-UGC NET conducted by Govt. of India. During his doctoral research, he was worked as DST-SRF in a Project. After working for a brief period as Lecturer on contract basis to teach Medical Laboratory Technology in Dr. V.S. Krishna Degree College, Visakhapatnam, he joined as Assistant Professor on regular post in 2001 in the Department of Biochemistry, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), Visakhapatnam. In December 2008, he was promoted as Associate Professor and as Professor in July 2016 and had been working there until September 2016 when he joined CUK as Professor. He had completed two research projects as Principal Investigator and one research project as co-principal investigator funded by UGC and one more UGC project is under completion as co-PI. He has successfully completed four student projects sanctioned by APCOST, Andhra Pradesh. His research primarily aims at modulation of immune response, inhibition of proinflammatory enzymes, proinflammatory mediators and anticancer agents. His research team has successfully isolated a dammarane triterpenoid derivative from tender edible seed coat of toddy tree with promising 5-LOX and COX-2 dual inhibitory activity which is being patented. He has successfully supervised three doctoral theses in the above areas and 12 M.Sc. dissertations. He has published 34 research papers in peer reviewed journals like Seminars in Cancer Biology, Current Drug Targets, Anti-cancer Agents in Medicinal Chemistry, International Archives of Allergy and Immunology, Pharmaceutical Biology, Cancer Science and Therapy, Indian Journal of Biochemistry & Biophysics, Indian Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and also five books. He has been attended several conferences/symposia/workshops as invited speaker and presented papers. He has actively taken up various professional/academic responsibilities besides coordinating three conferences. He has been awarded best researcher award in 2015 and best teacher award in 2016 by GITAM University, Visakhapatnam.
