MAGNETIC MATERIALS AND SPINTRONICS LAB

Group Head: Dr. SUBASA C. SAHOO

Ph.D. (2010) from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. Dr. Subasa C. Sahoo had been working as visiting scientist in Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, South Korea from Nov, 2010 to Oct, 2011. He specialises in the following areas: Magnetic Nanomaterials, Nanocomposites, Ferrites,Thin Films, Bilayers, Carbon Related Materials. He has completed one project “Synthesis, Structural and Magnetic Correlation Studies of Magnetic Nanoparticles”, under UGC-BSR start up Grant, Govt. of India. Four students have been awarded Ph.D. under his guidance. At present one student is working for Ph.D. under his guidance. He has published more than 50 papers in international/national journals.

Research Areas:
Magnetic Nanomaterials, Nanocomposites, Ferrites, Thin Films, Bilayers, Carbon Related Materials

Ph.D. Student: Argish Venugopal

Our group has been working on ferrimagnetic materials. We are involved in synthesizing spinel ferrites and M-type hexaferrites and tuning their magnetic properties for their potential device applications.
