INSTRUCTIONS FACULTY INDUCTION PROGRAMME (FIP) / SHORT TERM PROGRAMME (STP) / REFRESHER COURSE (RC)

Faculty Induction Programme (FIP)

The Faculty Induction Programme is designed for training newly appointed faculty members at Central and State Universities, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, and Degree & PG Colleges. The programme aims to familiarize faculty with their roles in higher education institutions and covers the following key areas:
• Teaching-learning methodologies
• Instructional strategies
• Assessment and evaluation techniques
• ICT-enabled teaching and learning
• University rules, regulations, and governance
• Basics of administration

Mandate:

Participation in this programme is mandatory for every newly appointed teacher, and they are required to complete it within one year of their appointment. This is a prerequisite for regularization or confirmation of their position.

Short Term Programme (STP)

The Short-Term Programme (STP) is intended for faculty development in various subject areas. The details of the programme are as follows:
• Duration: 6 working days
• Total Hours: 36 hours

Refresher Course (RC)

The Refresher Course provides an opportunity for faculty to update their knowledge and skills in specific subject areas. The details are as follows:
• Duration: Two weeks
• Minimum Working Days: 12 working days
• Contact Hours: 72 hours (6 hours per day, 6 days a week, excluding Sundays)

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria apply for participation in the above programmes:
1. In-Service Teachers: Faculty members in higher education, employed at universities and colleges that are included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, are eligible. This applies even if the institutions are not yet eligible under Section 12(B).
2. Affiliated Colleges: Teachers from colleges that are not under Section 2(f), but have been affiliated with a recognized university for at least five years, are eligible to participate in these programmes.
3. Institutes of National Importance: Faculty members working in institutions of national importance are also eligible to participate.

Note:

• Mode of Application: Only Online Applications will be accepted for the programme/course.
• Mode of Conduct: The programmes/courses will be conducted in either Online or Offline Mode, as specified.
• Late Applications: Applications received after the last date will be registered as Late Applications and will only be considered based on the availability of seats.
