The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Central University of Kerala, organised a two-day National Seminar on ‘Drugs & Biologics: Discovery, Development & Clinical Evaluation’. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Vincent Mathew, Director of Research. Prof. R. Aswati Nair, Head of the Department of BCMB, delivered the welcome address, while Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, Dean of Students’ Welfare, provided an overview of the seminar. Prof. Sudha Kappalli, Dean of the School of Biological Sciences, delivered the presidential address, and Prof. G. Mohanadasan Nair, President of the Kerala Academy of Sciences & Former Director, JNTBGRI, Trivandrum, gave a special address.

Felicitations were delivered by Prof. D. Govinda Rao from the Department of BCMB and Dr. Ramchand, Director of Theragen Biologics. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Thejaswini Venkatesh from the Department of BCMB. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Siddu P. Algur, and Registrar, Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, also addressed the gathering. The seminar featured expert talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at fostering industry-academia collaboration. It provided a valuable platform for students and researchers to gain insights into career opportunities, pharmaceutical industry trends, and the future of drug discovery and clinical evaluation.
