ABOUT (ESNCLSE)
The Centre for Life Skills Education (CLSE) is launched by the Central University of Kerala under School of Education on 19th December 2017 to undertake research, teaching and training programmes in life skills education and to propagate the need and importance of life skills education in the country. As the educational dynamism of the country is meticulously changing in the context of NEP 2020, the life skills and life skills education has to be popularized as implied in the national Educational Policy. National Education Policy 2020 give much importance to Life Skills and promoting Life Skills by bringing about structural and functional changes in the educational design and pedagogy. The youth policy of the Nation also for equipping the young generation with life Skills enabling their smooth adaptability. It is matter of fact that NEP calls for urgent reformation to promote critical and creative thinking among the learners at all levels. Youth of our nation needs to be trained in employability and multitasking to survive in the present day post global economic order. All these demands for a vital shift in the life skills approach which has been there so far in institutions. With this spirit, to widen its activities to all the domains of life and to cater to the needs of the students belonging to all disciplines and to address the issues of the community in a comprehensive manner, the centre has been renamed and gave a new face by the Central University of Kerala.
With the objective of honoring and as a reverence to the metro man of India, the Centre has been renamed as E Sreedharan Centre for Life Skills Education (ESNCLSE). Central University of Kerala aims to project E Sreedharan as the icon of skilled management and role model for problem solving skills to the future generation.
VISION
ESN CLSE strives to nurture and inspire the minds and create skilled hands for sustainable development. The centre also envisages to conduct research, extension and capacity development activities to work in the direction of social transformation and provide various life skills required for empowering the young generation for a sustainable future.
MISSION
To provide an optimum and encouraging environment with expertise sharing where pupils and people are empowered by making life skills for transformational competencies to achieve their maximum potential through learning and living together as essence of education.
OBJECTIVES
ESNCLSE strives to provide individuals with:

To function as a nodal Training Centre in Life Skills at national level.

To develop as a reservoir of resources related to Life Skills and Life Skills Education

To carry out and promote field researches and action oriented research programme related to Life Skills Education

Act as a catalyst for enabling an individual to become an active member of the society by the symbiosis of different stakeholders of higher education

Exposure to expertized environment where the individual transforms their potentials to the maximum

Employment skills training for the students by adopting online and off line mechanisms

Develop the beneficiaries a greater sense of self-awareness and appreciation for others

To nurture critical and creative thinking and problem solving abilities among the youth

To build confidence in communication skills for group collaboration and team work

To equip the students with career ready skills, attributes and values at respective stages

To support the students and build up an attitude so that they take up ownership of their studies, career and life.

COLLABORATION
ESN CLSE, Centre University of Kerala seeks functional collaboration with educational institutions/ industries/ philanthropic agencies and the similar working in the same or similar area pertaining to the objectives of ESNCLSE.
The functional collaboration will be regulated by a MoU signed between the ESNCLSE and the other agencies from time to time. The format of the same will be developed in mutual consensus and approval by the Central University of Kerala.
