ARAVALLI CENTRE FOR HEALTH AND MEDICAL SERVICES

  The Aravalli Centre for Health and Medical Services (ACHMS) began on the campus of the Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod as a small clinic to monitor health and provide primary health care to the University fraternity. It started with a single doctor supported by a staff nurse, a pharmacist, (Engaged through Contractual / Outsource) and an ambulance facility in October 2016.

  Since March 2022 ACHMS has been operating from its present building with permanent staff, enjoying the status of a sub-center, catering to basic health needs, providing consultation, and supplying urgent medicines free of cost to the CUK fraternity.

FACILITIES PROVIDED:-

  • •   Daytime medical care through outpatient consultation, and 24-hour on-call consultation.

  • •   First aid care in case of emergencies and accidents.

  • •   Assessment and reference to a tertiary hospital in case of emergencies

  • •   24-hour ambulance facility and referral to higher government facility.

  • •   Dispensing medicine free of cost for the CUK fraternity

  • •   Counselling for students, faculty, and staff. Initial help in case of any mental health problems and appropriate referral.

  • •   Surveillance of non-communicable diseases on the campuses. Surveillance and care during the pandemic.

  • •   Documentation, archiving, and retrieval of the medical records of regular employees.

  • •   Medical advice and guidelines in health matters at any time. Verification of the medical reimbursement claims of regular employees.

  • •   Organising health camps as an extension activity and social responsibility. Medical services during Arts Festival, Sports Day, NSS Activities.
