The Department of Education, Central University of Kerala (CUK), in collaboration with the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) – NCERT, has commenced a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ICT and Emerging Technologies for Teachers, Teacher Educators and Pupil Teachers in Teacher Education Institutions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur inaugurated the programme. In his address, he emphasised that India is currently witnessing rapid technological advancements and that modern technologies are now accessible to all sections of society. He highlighted the importance of integrating technology into teaching and learning processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of education.
Prof. Shireesh Pal Singh from CIET delivered the keynote address. Prof. Mohammedunni Elias Musthafa, Head of the Integrated Teacher Education Department, and Prof. Amruth G. Kumar addressed the gathering. Prof. V. P. Joshith, Head of the Department of Education, welcomed the participants, and Programme Coordinator Dr. Mary Vineetha Thomas proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme is being attended by school and college teachers, researchers, and M.Ed. students. Designed to strengthen educators’ capacity, the FDP focuses on the effective integration of digital tools, innovative pedagogies, and emerging technologies into teaching and learning. The three-day workshop will conclude on Friday.
