The Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) started functioning at the Central University of Kerala.


The Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) started functioning at the Central University of Kerala. In an event held at the campus, Vice-Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu inaugurated the centre. Free civil service exam training for Scheduled Castes under the leadership of the Centre at CUK has also started. There are 67 students in the first batch who will undergo training for one year.

 

Speaking during the event, Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu said that society has a responsibility to bring marginalized people into the mainstream. The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that there are still a large number of people in the country who need support and assistance. Scheduled Castes in Kerala have got a great opportunity to increase their representation in the civil service sector. The university is taking it as a mission. He also stated that he will take advantage of the opportunity to lead activities that benefit society. Placement Cell Director Prof. Joseph Koyippally spoke during the event. Centre Coordinator Dr M. Nagarajan welcomed and Advisory Committee Member Dr. K. Ravikumar delivered the vote of thanks.

 

This year, the Central Government has sanctioned Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence in various states to bring SC candidates to the forefront in competitive examinations. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has sanctioned Rs 75 lakh for the one-year training.
