Students conduct procession and street play to raise voice against violence against women
As part of the week-long programmes during International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Women’s Cell, Centre for Women's Studies, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Centre for Extension Service & the National Service Scheme (NSS) of the Central University of Kerala jointly organised a student rally and street play to raise voice against discrimination and violence faced by women.
The procession started at Vivekananda Circle at the university and concluded at Periya Town. Vice Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu flagged off the rally. Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar and Dean of Student Welfare Prof. K. Arunkumar were present during the flagging-off ceremony.
The street drama conducted as part of the event reflected the message against discrimination faced by women in families and society. Civil Police Officer Shali V.J. addressed the gathering. Dr. P. Supriya, Dr. Jayalakshmi Rajeev, Dr. B.S. Ashalakshmi, Dr. Swapna S Nair, Dr. Lakshmi, Dr.S. Anbazhagi, Dr. Sowjanya Sree and others led the programme.
