CUK student delivers speech on Netaji's Birth Anniversary at Parliament


As the country celebrated the 126th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a student from CUK delivered a speech in the Central Hall of Parliament. Anupama Suresh, a postgraduate student in International Relations and Politics had the rare opportunity to make the University proud in front of the nation.

The three-minute speech of Anupama Suresh incorporated the ideas and freedom struggle of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in front of the audience including Speaker Om Birla, Ministers, and other Members of Parliament. She also attended a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, Lok Kalyan Marg.

Thirty students from various higher educational institutions of the country were selected for the commemoration ceremony held in the central hall of the Parliament. The selection was through various competitive exams. Eight of them got the chance to speak. Anupama a native of Thiruvananthapuram, will also participate in the Republic Day celebrations.

Speaking at the event, Anupama said that it was an unforgettable experience in life. "I am very happy to get such a great opportunity. The Prime Minister who spoke about Netaji's life also suggested that we should try to read biographies of historic personalities to learn the kind of challenges they faced in their lives and how they overcame these challenges." She added.

Felicitating Anupama, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu said that the achievement is an encouragement and role model for all students. He pointed out that the university gives first priority to identifying the talents of the students and encouraging them and providing them with opportunities.
