Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai inaugurates National Conference on Reimagining G20 under India's Leadership: Prospects and Concerns.


Periye (Kasaragod): National Conference on Reimagining G20 under India's Leadership: Prospects and Concerns was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Shri. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, at the  Central University of Kerala. In his opening address, Governor Pillai spoke about the ancient concept of Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam, which India is advancing at the G20. He emphasized that India has the best constitution and that the academic world should realize the true values of the country. He also talked about the idea of a united India, which he said can be found in ancient texts and global literary history.

"There is propaganda that India was united by the British. But the idea of a united India can be found in ancient texts and global literary history. There are also those who argue that British rule brought development which is wrong. Instead, the decline of India in many areas was brought about by British rule," he said. University of Hyderabad  Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.J. Rao, was the chief guest at the event, and he pointed out that India is coming to the forefront of world leadership with the G20 presidency.

Central University of Kerala Vice Chancellor, Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu, presided over the conference and stated that the opportunity has come to prove that India is capable of leading the world. Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar offered his greetings, and Prof. Muthukumar Muthuchami welcomed the participants. Dr. G. Durga Rao delivered the vote of thanks.

The conference aims to address issues of sustainability, security, and governance under the Indian leadership of the G20. The conference will feature various sessions on these topics, with the participation of Vice Chancellors, academicians, and senior officials. In addition to the conference, a program called G20 University Connect will be held on 22nd March 2023.
