Workshop on Aquatic Animal Health Management

A workshop to discuss various issues faced by aqua farmers and to suggest innovative methods to solve the problems was organised at the Central University of Kerala. Aqua farmers and scientists participated in the workshop on ' Aquatic Animal Health Management' organised under the auspices of the Department of Zoology in collaboration with ICAR - Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi. Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. K.C. Baiju inaugurated the workshop. Speaking during the event, he said that the results of scientific research should be available to the farmers at a practical level. He also stated that the university will continue to organize such workshops for the community. School of Biological Sciences Dean Prof. K. Arun Kumar presided. Department of Zoology Professor Dr. Sudha Kapalli, Head of the Department Dr. Indrashis Bhattacharya also spoke. Principal scientists of the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Dr. A.P. Dinesh Babu, Dr. N.K. Sanil, Dr. B. Santhosh, Former Principal Scientist Dr. P.K. Ashokan, Zoology Department Professor Dr. K.V. Rajendran, and Aquaculture Development Co-operative Society Chairman T. Purushothaman presented papers.
