The Central University of Kerala is gearing up to host its 7th Convocation on Monday, 11th March at 11 am. The esteemed occasion will be honored by the presence of West Bengal Governor Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose as the chief guest with Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. K.C. Baiju presiding over the function. Notable attendees will include Kasaragod MP Rajmohan Unnithan, Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Jayaprakash, members of the University's Court, Executive Council, Academic Council, Finance Committee, People's Representatives, Deans, Heads of Departments, Students, Teachers, Staff, and more.
This year’s graduation ceremony will honor 957 students who have completed their studies in 2023. The distribution of degrees includes 40 Bachelor's degrees, 843 Master's degrees, 58 PhD degrees, and 16 PG Diploma degrees across various departments of study. Adding to the splendour of the event, special guests, students, and teachers will grace the programme dressed in traditional attire, typically featuring white garments such as dhotis, pants, pyjamas, kurtas, churidars, and sarees. Furthermore, shawls in eighteen different colours have been prepared, representing the various roles and affiliations within the university community. Gold medals will be awarded to outstanding students of Commerce and International Business, Mathematics, and Management Studies.
As preparations reach their final stages, various committees, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. K.C. Baiju, are diligently working to ensure the success of the convocation ceremony.
