Kerala state government honoured Central University of Kerala for their efforts in fighting COVID-19 pendamic. State health minister K.K. Shailaja felicitated Dr. Rajendran Pilankatta, head of Bio Chemistry and Molicular Biology, who has spearheaded the efforts to combat the pandemic by giving a memento.

Minister has lauded the efforts taken by the University under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof .H. Venkateshwarlu in combating the corona virus. Assistant professor Dr. Sameer Kumar V.B., Medical officer Dr. Arati Nair were also present. The felicitation was done at the meeting of district medical officers at Kanhangad national health mission conference hall .

University has tested aroung 50,000 samples till now. Dr. Sameer Kumar V.B., research scholors prajith, Renjith, Vishnu, Lathika, Manoj, Rajesh, Anjali, Ashutosh, Aswati, Lab technicians Arati, Roshna, Jithin, Sufaid, Sunessh, Krajith, Roopesh, Data entry operators Riswan, Nikhil, Sachin, Varsha, Arpita were also in the team . University also decided to make a building dedicated solely for the reasearch and testing of coronavirus.
