CUK Observes Ambedkar Jayanti


The Central University of Kerala marked the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with a series of commemorative events. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. K.C. Baiju inaugurated the proceedings, underscoring Dr. Ambedkar's enduring commitment to social justice on both national and global scales. Former Professor at B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad, and Founder Chairman of Telangana State Public Service Commission, Dr. Ghanta Chakrapani, delivered the keynote address, highlighting Dr. Ambedkar's significant contributions in reshaping the nation's ethos with his emphasis on equality, social justice, and fraternity.Executive Council Member Prof. K. Arun Kumar, Academic Dean Prof. Amruth G. Kumar, Registrar (i/c) Prof. A. Manikavelu, and Assistant Professor, Department of International Relations, Dr. Uma Purushothaman, shared their perspectives during the event. Dr. T.K. Anish Kumar, Hindi Officer and Coordinator of Scheduled Tribes Cell, extended a warm welcome, while Dr. P. Senthil Kumaran, Deputy Librarian and Liaison Officer for Scheduled Tribes Cell, delivered the vote of thanks. The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Chief Guest, and university staff paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by offering floral tributes to his portrait displayed prominently in front of Ambedkar Bhavan.
