CUK Professor Receives Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrator Seminar Award

Prof. A. Manickavelu, from the Department of Genomic Science and Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the Central University of Kerala, has been honoured with the prestigious Fulbright -Nehru International Education Administrator Seminar Award by the United States - India Educational Foundation (USIEF). This distinguished award recognises eminent individuals in the field of higher education administration. Prof. Manickavelu is among the ten recipients from India who have been selected for this honour.

The award will allow Prof. Manikavelu to visit renowned higher education institutions in the United States for two weeks. During this period, he will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with experts and present the unique features of the Central University of Kerala. The program aims to provide insights into various aspects of higher education, including accreditation, curriculum development, fundraising, student welfare, and administrative practices.

Additionally, this award opens avenues for potential collaborations between the Central University of Kerala and American institutions in various areas of mutual interest, such as research, student-faculty exchanges, and study abroad programs. Originally from Tamil Nadu, Prof. Manickavelu has been a Central University of Kerala faculty member since 2016.
