School of Education Triumphs in CUK Arts Festival 'Cankama'
The Central University of Kerala Arts Festival 'Cankama'dazzled with vibrant talent and spirited competition, culminating in a spectacular victory for the School of Education. With an impressive 237 points, they claimed the coveted art crown. The School of Social Sciences followed with a commendable 117 points, while the School of Global Studies secured third place with 112 points. The standout star, Sariga Raveendran from the School of Education, won the individual championship. The festival's football tournament was equally thrilling, with the School of Global Studies and the School of Education emerging victorious in the women's and men's categories, respectively.
Over 30 exhilarating stage and non-stage competitions transformed the campus into a festive wonderland. The meticulous organization and vibrant participation made 'Cankama' a resounding success. Key figures, including the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. Vincent Mathew, Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Jayaprakash, and Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, along with Cultural Coordinator Dr. K. Thiyagu and the Students' Council, ensured the event's seamless execution.
Film star Chitra Nair as the chief guest graced the closing ceremony. Students' Council President A. Sreehari presided over the ceremony, while Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta and Dr. K. Thiyagu delivered inspiring speeches. Students' Council Secretary Amar Shyam extended a warm welcome, and Executive Council Member Arjun K.C. proposed vote of thanks.
