Students from the Department of Social Work at the Central University of Kerala organised a relief drive to support communities affected by the recent floods and landslides in Wayanad. The University administration extended full support to this crucial initiative.

Over three consecutive days, students and PhD scholars from the Department of Social Work led an extensive collection drive across the university campus. Following a communication from the University administration, faculty members, students, PhD scholars, and staff from all departments actively participated, contributing essential items. 

On 11th August 2024, under the guidance of the Honorable Vice Chancellor and Registrar of the Central University of Kerala, the collected items were formally handed over to the District Collector of Wayanad, Ms. Meghasree, IAS, at the Wayanad District Collectorate. The handover was led by Dr. Nagalingam M, Head of the Department of Social Work, along with student representatives who were instrumental in organizing and executing the relief drive.
