Awareness Program Organized as Part of Tribal Pride Day


In commemoration of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and tribal hero Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Central University of Kerala (CUK) organized an awareness program at the Ayampara Kaliyadukkam Community Hall.

Prof. Vincent Mathew, Vice Chancellor (i/c), inaugurated the program. In his address, he highlighted that education inspired Birsa Munda in his struggle for India’s freedom, emphasizing that education is key to societal upliftment and transformative change.

Hosdurg Range Excise Preventive Officer K.P. Abdul Salam conducted a session on the dangers of drug abuse, while Dr. C.A. Geetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, spoke about the importance of education in personal and community development.

Dr. S. Thennarasu, Head of the Department of Linguistics; Dr. M. Nagalingam, Head of the Department of Social Work; Ward Member K. Latha; Urumooppan Rajan; Programme Chairman Dr. Gujjeti Tirupathi, Convenor Dr. T.K. Aneesh Kumar, Dr. Mary Vineetha Thomas, and Dr. Zam Ngaih Cing spoke during the event. The students performed an awareness street play, effectively engaging the community on critical social issues.
