Invited Talk on Women's Property Rights and POCSO Act


The Centre for Women Studies at the Central University of Kerala organized a talk on ‘Women's Property Rights and Sensitisation on POCSO Act’. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Vincent Mathew, Vice Chancellor (i/c), who emphasized the importance of legal awareness in empowering society to respect and uphold women's rights. Dr. Devi Parvathy, Assistant Professor and organizer of the event, welcomed the gathering, while Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, Registrar (i/c), delivered a felicitation address.

The keynote speaker, Advocate Renukadevi Thankachi S, Chairperson of the Kasaragod Child Welfare Committee, provided an in-depth analysis of challenges surrounding women's property rights and discussed the significance of the POCSO Act in protecting children from abuse. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Thejaswini Venkitesh, Coordinator, Centre for Women's Studies.
