Former DGP Rishiraj Singh Encourages Civil Service Aspirants to Embrace Reading

Kasaragod: Former Director General of Police (DGP) Rishiraj Singh emphasized the importance of books over online resources, urging students to cultivate the habit of seeking knowledge through reading rather than relying on Google. He made these remarks while addressing a civil services exam training program organized by the Civil Services Academy of the Central University of Kerala in collaboration with Lead IAS, Thiruvananthapuram.

“Students preparing for civil service exams should prioritize books for accurate and comprehensive answers, which Google often cannot provide,” he said. Highlighting the intense competition in UPSC exams, Singh pointed out that only a small percentage of candidates succeed among the lakhs who appear. He urged aspirants to take the exams seriously, emphasizing the need for proficiency in English, Hindi, and local languages to excel.

The event was inaugurated by the Dean Academic, Prof. Amruth G. Kumar. Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta; Lead IAS Academic Dean, V. Unnikrishna Das; and Civil Services Academy Coordinator, Dr. B.S. Ashalaxmi, also addressed the gathering.
