The Central University of Kerala celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and various programmes across its campuses at Periya, Trivandrum Capital Centre, and Thiruvalla. The event, held in front of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan, Periya Campus, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (I/c) Prof. Vincent Mathew hoisted the national flag and delivered the Republic Day message.
In his address, Prof. Vincent Mathew emphasized that the country is progressing steadily towards a Viksit Bharat. He highlighted the significant role that the university plays in contributing to this vision. He stated, “The University succeeds when students excel in their curricular and extracurricular activities. It is important to recognize that the actions and inactions of every member of the university community impact students positively or negatively.” He also stressed the collective responsibility of ensuring that the university's services are beneficial to society.
The event witnessed the presence of Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Shri Jagadeesh Ram Pouri, Director of Official Language from the Ministry of Education, along with Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and students. The celebrations concluded with a vibrant cultural programme conducted by the students. During the event, the Vice Chancellor distributed prizes and certificates to staff, students, and departments in recognition of their excellence. As part of the celebrations, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Registrar also planted saplings to symbolize growth and sustainability.
