Moot court competitions important in legal studies: Prof. K.C. Sunny
Thiruvalla: The basic objective of any branch of education is to develop knowledge, skills and values and that the same goal can be achieved in the field of legal education through moot court competitions, said Prof. K.C. Sunny, Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. He was speaking at the virtual inauguration of the first National Moot Court Competition organized by the Department of Law, Central University of Kerala.
Moot court competitions play an important role in the development of life skills along with the basic skills required for the legal profession, Prof. K.C. Sunny added. The function was presided over by Dr. Rajendra Pilankatta, Registrar, Central University of Kerala. Prof. K.P. Suresh, Dean Academic, Dr. K.I. Jayasankar, Head, Department of Law and Assistant Professors Dr. J. Gireesh Kumar and Dr. S. Meera spoke during the ceremony.
The various rounds of the competition will take place online from September 23 to 25. The closing session to be held on September 25 at 6.15 pm will be inaugurated by Kerala High Court Judge Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque.
