A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Central University of Kerala and North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC) at the Conference Hall, Gangothri Block, CUK Periye Campus. Dr. Santhosh Kumar N, Registrar, CUK and Dr. Joseph Benaven, President, North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC), Kannur, Kerala were the signatories. This MOU outlined the initiative for mutual cooperation between the two parties in the areas of training the students for industrial exposure and better employability. 

Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, spoke on the programmes that can be conducted by the CUK and NMCC.  He insisted that this MOU extends in providing a platform and process for the students to enrich their industrial exposure. He also commented that the meritorious students may be taken as interns for both first year and second year of their post-graduation, which may be inculcated in the curriculum. He said that the students should learn the intricacies of the real situation and report their understanding on these exposures in the class rooms and discuss with their mentors in the CUK. He emphasized that there are many underutilized opportunities in Kasaragod and both CUK and NMCC need to enrich and bring a task force into activity. He also brought into focus the need of an innovation and incubation hub. He said that the CUK will constitute a committee to take forward the mandate of MOU. Dr Joseph Benaven, the President of NMCC, spoke and appreciated the promising introductory statement of the Vice-Chancellor, which insisted on looking at outcome. He said that the NMCC is serious about the Industry-University interface and through this MOU they are looking forward for mutually rewarding experience for both the parties to the MOU.

Mujeeb Ahmed, General Convener, NMCC Kasaragod Chapter, Shri. Prasad M.N, Joint Convener, NMCC Kasaragod Chapter and Shri. Gautam Bhaktha, Member, NMCC Kasaragod Chapter were present.
