Periye: The 5th Convocation of the Central University of Kerala will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 3.30 pm. President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest at the event, which will be held at a specially prepared venue at the Periye Campus of the Central University of Kerala. Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammad Khan and Minister for Local Self Governments and Excise M.V. Govindan will also attend the ceremony.
The event will be presided over Prof.H.Venkateshwarlu, by Vice-Chancellor,. Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar, Registrar, Dr.M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Controller of Examination, the members of the University Court, members of the Executive Council, members of the Academic Council, members of the Finance Committee, people's representatives, Deans of various Schools, Heads of the Departments, teachers and staff will also be present during the ceremony.
The graduation ceremony of the 2018-2020 batch is being conducted this year. A total of 742 students are expected to graduate where 29 will be awarded bachelor's degrees, 652 postgraduate degrees, 52 PhD degrees and 9 PG diplomas. A total number of 563 students have registered to participate in the program which is being organized in accordance with the Covid 19 protocol. All participants must have RT PCR Negative Certificate taken within 72 hours and should arrive at 2.30 PM. Those who are close to the President at the ceremony should also undergo a Rapid Antigen Test. Only pass holders are allowed to participate in the program.
The President is expected to arrive at the University at 3.20 pm for the ceremony. The ceremony will begin with an academic procession accompanied by a band. The President, Deans of various Schools, the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar and the Controller of Examinations will attend the procession. Preparations for receiving the president have been completed; said Registrar Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar in a press conference conducted to brief the details. Seventeen sub-committees have been formed under the supervision of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu.

Controller of Examinations Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Dean Academic Dr. Amruth G. Kumar, Public Relations Officer K. Sujith, Media and Publicity Committee Convener Dr. T.K. Aneesh Kumar were also present at the press conference.
