The fifth convocation of the Central University of Kerala was held at Tejaswini Hills Campus, Periye, Kasaragod.  Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon'ble President of India was the Chief Guest of the ceremony and he delivered the convocation address. The convocation ceremony was presided over by Officiating Vice Chancellor Prof. K.C.Baiju. Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, Shri M.V. Govindan, Local Self-Government Minister, Dr.N.Santhosh Kumar, Registrar were present on the dais.

Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Controller of Examination, Members of the Court, Executive Council, Academic Council, Finance Committee, Deans of Schools, HODs, Faculty members and Staff members attended the ceremony. A total of 742 students graduated in which 29 were awarded bachelor degrees, 652 postgraduate degrees, 52 PhD degrees, and nine PG diplomas.
