Vice-Chancellors' Round Table Conference on NEP begins at CUK

With a mission to prepare a blueprint for the implementation of the new National Education Policy in the Universities, the Round Table Conference of Vice-Chancellors of the universities in the country started at the Central University of Kerala. The conference is organized in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, which works in the field of education.

The conference that began with a discussion on research quality dimensions suggested that local development should also be the goal of research. Research is related to the development and it also has a spatial mission. One should be able to acquire research experience from international levels and apply it practically at the local level. The social conditions of each area should be taken into consideration and emphasis should be given to the local language. The conference pointed out that the ethics of research is being lost and efforts should be made in universities to reclaim it.

Vice Chancellors Prof. Kattimani (Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh), Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu (Central University of Kerala), Prof. Battu Satyanarayana (Central University of Karnataka), Prof. Kshiti Bhushan Das (Central University of Jharkhand), Prof. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya ((Mangalore University), Prof. Venkata Ramana, Vice Chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education and Prof. K. Sivaprasad, President, UVAS spoke on the occasion. Dean Academic Prof. Amruth G Kumar presented the topic. Prof. K. Arun Kumar welcomed and Prof. A.K. Mohan delivered the vote of thanks.

Former Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Antarashtreeya Hindi Viswavidyalaya Prof. Kapil Kapoor, AICTE National Coordinator Prof. Ganti S. Murthy, ICSSR Chairman Prof. P. Kanagasabapati, National Monitoring Committee on Education Member A Vinod K, NUALS Vice Chancellor Prof.K.C. Sunny, UVAS General Secretary Dr.C.P. Satheesh spoke during the second session on the topic 'Indian Knowledge Systems'. Prof. V. Balachandran delivered the vote of thanks.

Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar will officially inaugurate the event on 4th March at 9.30 am. Vice-Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu will preside over the function. Dr. Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas will deliver the keynote address. Academic Dean Prof. Amruth G Kumar will welcome and Registrar Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar will deliver the vote of thanks. The various sessions will be attended by Vice-Chancellors and educators.
