Ajanur Gram Panchayat in association with the Department of Social Work, Central University of Kerala, and Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Centre for Extension Services celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, Tuesday 10:30 am.
The program started with the welcome speech by Ms. Arya, second-year MSW student. Presidential address was given by Mr Krishnan, Panchayath Welfare Standing Committee Chairman after which inauguration speech was given by Ms T. Sobha, President of Ajanur Grama Panchayath. Felicitation speech was given by Ms K. Meena, Development Standing Committee Chairperson, Ms Sheeba Umar, Health and Education Standing committee chairperson and Prof. Mohan A.K. head of department, Department of Social work, Central University of Kerala.
The chief guest and the keynote speaker of the day was Dr Devi Parvathy, Assistant professor, Department of Public Administration. She handled a session on "breaking the gender bias". After which a skit on the same topic was performed by first-year MSW students of the Central University of Kerala. A discussion was done on the skit which was moderated by Mr Swasthik a research scholar. The program ended with a vote of thanks given by Ms Arathi second-year MSW student.
