Chief Minister Navakerala Post-Doctoral fellowship to Researchers of Central University Kerala

Periye: The first Navakerala Fellowship for Post-Doctoral research is declared by Prof. R. Bindhu Minister of higher education of Kerala, three fellowships are awarded to researchers of the Central University of Kerala. The institution of the fellowship was announced in the last state budget. The scheme has been designed to further the development plans of the state by promoting research in domains of Eco diversity, agriculture, digital technology, genetics, climate change, and the indigenous culture of Kerala.

Dr. Soumya B.N. working as UGC-Kothari Post-doctoral fellow at Dept of Chemistry, CUK received the award to carry out research to develop viable and economic catalyst for biomass conversation into fuels. She will work under the mentorship of Prof. A. Shaktivel at Dept of Chemistry, CUK.

Dr. Aditya V., Guest faculty of Computer Science department, CUK received the fellowship for designing efficient methodologies for developing multimodal interfacing systems that eventually leads to the advancements in natural modes of human computer interaction. She will work under the mentorship of Dr. N.S. Sreekanth, Associate Professor, School of Information Science and Technology, Kannur University.

Dr. Joyous T Joseph, from the Department of Plant Science, received the fellowship for plant science projects focussing on crop disease management. She will work at the Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology, University of Kerala.

The awardees will receive a fellowship of six lakh for first year followed by 12 lakhs for the second year. The awards will carry 50,000 additional grants for laboratory expenses.
