Central University of Kerala joins hands with NCC for Personality, leadership development programme for cadets
Periye: The Central University of Kerala in collaboration with NCC has started a personality and leadership development programme for cadets. Payyanur-based NCC 32 Kerala Battalion cadets have started their training sessions in various fields at the university. The event is held as a part of NCC's ongoing annual training camp in Padannakkad. As many as forty cadets from the camp are attending daily classes at the CUK campus in Periye.
Classes are being conducted by teachers and specialists in a variety of subjects, including social work, life-saving techniques, healthy living, and career opportunities. In addition, there are discussions with teachers, visits to science labs to learn how it works, etc. Calicut NCC Group Commander Brigadier E. Govind and 32 Kerala Battalion Commanding Officer Y Vijayakumar are leading the team.
In a meeting with the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu, Brigadier E. Govind handed over the gift to the Vice-Chancellor and thanked the University for its cooperation. He pointed out the training being imparted to NCC cadets by the E Sreedharan Centre for Life Skills Education at the University for life skills development. The Vice-Chancellor promised to strengthen the ties with NCC in the coming days. More events will be conducted in the coming days, the aim of the university is to benefit the general public, said the Vice-chancellor. The training programme started on April 30 and will end on May 9.
