Facilities:-

  • A.   The Nilgiri Guest House has air conditioned and well-furnished 4 Executive Suites, 21 rooms, and 2 Dormitories, 1 Conference Hall, 1 Dining Hall with kitchen, 1 Office Room, and 2 Housekeeping Rooms in its two floors.

    B.   All Rooms are air conditioned and have hot water facility. The rooms are furnished with cot, table, chair, wardrobe, television, electric kettle and coffee/tea provisions.

    C.   The Conference Room and the Dining Hall can accommodate 50 persons at a time.

Rules & Regulations

  1. All guests of the Nilagiri Guest House are bound by the Rules of Stay for Guest and Guidelines of the Guest House and acknowledge the same by signing the register at the time of checking in.
  2. All applications for Guest House facilities are to be made only in the official proforma. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  3. Guest House accommodation is allotted by the Manager of the Guest House on the basis of the priorities set in the Guest House Regulations.
  4. All guests, except those designated as University Guests by the Vice Chancellor, shall pay their rent for the period of booking, even for the period in which the room allotted remained vacant because of the guest's late arrival. The requisitioner shall be responsible for the non-payment of rent.
  5. The Guest may check in at any time. However, for the purpose of accounting, a day is counted from 10 AM that day to 10 AM next day from the occupation/arrival. Fraction of a day will be counted as full day.
  6. All guests will make an entry with ID proof in the Register kept at reception/counter soon after their arrival and again before leaving the Guest House. A valid and recognised Identity card is mandatory for admission.
  7. Indian nationals should present their Adhaar Card or Official ID or any Government issued ID at the reception at the time of check in.
  8. Foreign nationals should present their passports containing valid visa at the reception for entry in the Foreigner's Registration Arrival Report.
  9. Any guest who violates any of the Rules of Stay and Guidelines or the guests whose action in the Guest House causing inconvenience or discomfort to others can be asked to leave the Guest House premises by the Guest House Chairman.
  10. The main door opens at 5.00 AM and closes at 11.00 PM.
  11. Visitors are allowed only from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
  12. The tariff is subject to change at any time without notice.
  13. All digital payments are to be made to official bank account of the Manager, Nilagiri Guest House, Central University of Kerala Branch, Periye, Kasaragod.
  14. 50% of the advanced payment will be refunded if cancellation is intimated at least 7 days before the date of confirmation.
  15. The confirmation of the reservation of Non-Official category is done after of 50% advance payment is made.
  16. Cooking and washing are not permitted inside rooms.
  17. Pets are not allowed in the Guest House or its premises.
  18. Persons suffering from infection or contagious disease are not allowed to stay in the Guest House.
  19. Guests should not exchange rooms or move to other rooms without the permission of the Manager of the Guest House.
  20. Use of tobacco, any form of illegal drugs and chewing gums are not permitted inside the Guest House or its premises.
  21. Gambling, Smoking and consumption of liquor in any form or any unlawful behavior is strictly prohibited inside the rooms or elsewhere inside the University campus.
  22. The guests are required to switch off all electrical appliances like fan, light, kettle, air-conditioners, geyser etc. before leaving the room.
  23. Damaging of property of the Guest House is illegal. Any voluntary or accidental damage or loss caused by the guest to the Guest House building, or to any property of the University shall be subject to a fine. The Requisitioner will have to pay the fine if the persons caused the damage refuse to pay.
  24. The Guest House or the University shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage to person or the properties of the guest during his/her stay in the Guest House.
  25. If a guest takes away the Inventory items of the Guest House, it shall be added to the bill.
  26. Drivers, unless they have a booked accommodation, are not allowed for overnight stay inside the Guest House, however in exceptional cases they will be allowed to sleep in the staff room of the Guest House with prior permission from the Manager.
  27. The allotment of accommodation does not confer any tenancy rights. The University has the right to get the rooms vacated at any time without giving notice or assigning reason.
  28. The decision of the Vice-Chancellor shall be final in regard to the interpretation of these rules. The rules may be amended with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor may grant exemption from the operation of any of the above rules in exceptional cases on merit.
